The year could not have got off to a better start as we unveiled our first collection for leading jewellery platform, Finematter.
We were simply thrilled when Finematter asked us to come on board as its first vintage jewellery brand, vintage expert and curator; joining what can only be described as a glorious A-list of global jewellery brands.
A premier destination for jewellery, the company launched in November 2020 to great acclaim, attracting attention from the world’s press.
Described by VOGUE as “giving jewellery a stylish Scandinavian spin” and one of the “leading e-tailers, redefining the way we buy fine jewellery,” Finematter’s mission is to create an unmatched shopping experience for fine and demi-fine jewellery, and we are delighted to be a part of the team making this a reality.
Artfully reimagining the online jewellery experience and championing expertise and creativity, Finematter connects the very best jewellery designers with discerning customers across the globe.
Our first collection went live in January and includes 27 pieces, thoughtfully selected in partnership with the wonderful team at Finematter. We wanted our first collection to herald the arrival of vintage at Finematter and looking again at the incredible images online, I feel that we achieved this perfectly.
Throughout the collection, and in keeping with Finematter’s ethos, there’s strong emphasis on individuality, style and sustainability, with jewels spanning multiple decades from the mid-20th century to the late-1990s. Sublime archive pieces from Dior and Chanel take centre stage, with adorable Givenchy finds completing what is a truly beautiful collection. Stand-out jewels include a super-sized 1989 Chanel CC medal-style pendant on a luxuriously long chain, designed by the uber-talented Victoire de Castellane, the chunkiest link bracelet imaginable, crafted by Givenchy in the 1980s and an exquisite pair of signed 1967 Christian Dior by Marc Bohan, huggie style hoop earrings, embellished with pave set emerald glass cabochon stones and crystal chatons. Each piece is handpicked, utterly unique and a prize example of enduring style and intoxicating glamour from its era.
When selecting pieces for the collection, I wanted customers to have an immersive experience and lose themselves in the beautiful world of vintage jewellery. For me, when done well, the best vintage is soulful; it is a soulful experience. And this is what I want the collection to convey.
Huge thanks to the amazing team at Finematter, especially the founders, Mie Ejdrup and Caroline Chalmer and the vice president of designer partnerships and merchandising, Miranda Williams, for loving what we do and how we do it, and for inviting us on board as their partner to premiere vintage jewellery at Finematter.
Mie commented: “It is evident that Jennifer has a gifted talent for curating pieces that stand out. Her collection is not only unique, but also very true to her eye. Her pieces are rare, special, and unlike anything else. They are truly beautiful.”
I got the opportunity to chat in depth to Finematter about my background, my favourite pieces in the collection and my golden rules for sourcing dreamy pieces. Read the full interview.
