Website Terms & Conditions

Introduction

Welcome to Jennifer Gibson Jewellery an online jewellery store based in the United Kingdom. We specialise in vintage jewellery and are committed to providing high-quality service and products. These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our website and the purchase of products through our platform. By using our website and/or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Definitions:
The term ‘vintage’ refers to items assessed to be 20 or more years old. Our collection spans more than a century.

We offer a small number of ‘preloved’ items which are more recent and do not carry the word ‘vintage’ in their title.

‘Us’ refers to Jennifer Gibson Jewellery Ltd. ‘You’ refers to you, the user of this website.

2. Products

2.1 Product Descriptions and Representations
We offer a carefully curated collection of vintage and preloved jewellery.

Given the nature of vintage and preloved items, some pieces may show signs of wear or slight imperfections, which are characteristic of their age.

Each product description will provide detailed information about the condition of the item. We take great care to ensure the accuracy of product descriptions and images; however, colours and details may vary slightly due to digital representation and/or screen settings.

While we strive to provide accurate information about each product to the best of our knowledge, we cannot guarantee that all details, such as materials, origins, or time periods, are entirely error-free. Jennifer Gibson Jewellery will not be held liable for any inaccuracies or omissions in the information provided on our website. Customers are encouraged to contact us with any specific questions before making a purchase and we will be pleased to assist.

2.2 Product Authentication and Brand Ownership Product Authentication:
At Jennifer Gibson Jewellery we take great pride in the authenticity of our vintage jewellery collection. Each piece undergoes a thorough inspection by Jennifer to verify its authenticity, origin, and quality. We guarantee that all vintage items are genuine and meet the high standards we set for our exclusive collection. Visit our Authentication Page for more information.

Ownership of Brand Names and Trademarks:
Many of the items we sell may originate from well-known jewellery brands or designers. However, Jennifer Gibson Jewellery does not claim any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from these brands or their parent companies

Brand Ownership: All brand names, logos, and trademarks displayed on the products listed for sale remain the exclusive property of their respective owners. These brands are mentioned solely for descriptive purposes to inform customers about the origin or design of a particular piece of jewellery.

Resale of Branded Items: When we offer items from established jewellery brands, we are acting as an independent reseller of previously owned items. The sale of these products by Jennifer Gibson Jewellery does not imply any relationship between us and the original brand or its owners.

We respect the intellectual property rights of all brands and comply with all applicable laws regarding the resale of vintage or branded jewellery.

2.3. Allergies and Metal Content in Vintage Jewellery
Some of the vintage jewellery items we sell may contain metals such as nickel, which can cause allergic reactions in certain individuals. Nickel is a common component in vintage pieces, particularly in jewellery made before modern regulations on its use. While we strive to provide detailed descriptions of the materials used in each item, we cannot guarantee that all products are free from potential allergens. Under current UK law, including the **Nickel Directive (2004/96/EC)**, items sold as new must comply with strict limits on nickel release, but this does not always apply to vintage or second-hand items. We advise customers with known allergies or sensitivities to contact us before purchasing for further information, or to avoid wearing jewellery that may contain such metals. Jennifer Gibson Jewellery is not liable for allergic reactions or skin sensitivities caused by wearing our jewellery.

For security purposes and to protect both our customers and our business, Jennifer Gibson Jewellery reserves the right to contact customers to verify their identity before processing and shipping high-value orders. This may involve requesting additional information or documentation to confirm the order details and the customer’s identity.
