Vintage and Pre-Owned Items Definition and Item Condition Disclaimer
We take reasonable care to describe the condition of our vintage jewellery accurately. By its very nature, vintage and pre-owned jewellery will show signs of use and wear in close-up and will likely not appear ‘new’. Our condition report is our best assessment and given in good faith. This should be treated as such. Please read and consider the following condition information before making your purchase.
Our collection includes items assessed to be genuine pieces of antique (100 years or more) and vintage jewellery (20 years or more) along with very small numbers of ‘previously-owned’ pieces of jewellery from the last 20 years. Consequently, items will not appear ‘as new’ in their condition and signs of aging to varying degrees should be expected along with ‘age appropriate wear’. Age appropriate wear adds to the authenticity and character of the piece, indicating the previous life of the piece and within reason is unlikely to detract from the wearability or market value. We typically avoid damaged or repaired products in our collection and will usually only include such an item when we believe it is warranted due to rarity or historical fashion interest. Additionally, we endeavour to point out any noticeable damage or repair in the product description and this will be described to the best of our knowledge.
For all items in our collection, we aim to describe the item including any significant signs of wear especially those considered more than ‘age appropriate wear’ in the product description and the imagery and all to the best of our knowledge. Please study the images and our product narrative carefully before purchase. Please contact us via the contact page should you wish to discuss the condition of any item and have your questions answered prior to purchase.
Any statements made on our website regarding the condition of the product for sale does not constitute advice nor is it intended to be used as such. Items are described to the best of our knowledge.
