Caring For Your Jewellery

love Jennifer

Vintage costume jewellery is extremely delicate and requires special care and attention. To preserve the beauty and condition of your jewel please follow our care advice for best results. Primarily, it is important to keep your item boxed and protected from other jewellery when not being worn and away from all beauty products including creams, makeup, perfume and hairspray. Costume jewellery is typically most suited to occasional rather than very frequent or continuous wear.
In addition to our advice below, your order will include our care card suggesting ways to maintain the condition of your jewellery and we are always willing to offer additional care advice for your jewel of choice.

Please be aware, we cannot be held liable for any wear or damage incurred after the receipt of products.

Additional care tips

Avoid contact with all beauty products, liquids or humidity including sprays such as water, perfume or hairspray and creams. Exposing jewellery to wet or damp could harm the metal and reduce the life of the plating, as well as cause discolouration and/or loss of stones. Remove jewellery before washing hands, santizing and swimming etc.

Store your jewellery in the original packaging or a soft pouch to avoid scratches.
Add your jewellery last when dressing and remove before undressing. Avoid sleeping in your jewellery.
Avoid hard contact (i.e. dropping or knocking against objects) that can cause scratches or chips.

Following this advice should serve to extend the life of your vintage jewel further and preserve its condition for your enjoyment.
