About Out There Vintage
Where more is more and you’re in the mood to push the jewel boundaries. Peruse our collection of unusual, eclectic, unimaginable, wearable art and make your individual statement.
The world of costume jewellery during the 20th Century reached new levels of ingenuity in design and creation. As well as abstract designs, highly innovative and often exotic and fanciful jewel designs incorporated almost any subject you could dream up. From animals, bugs, flowers and trees to faces to everyday objects such as wheelbarrows and Christmas stockings, to modes of travel such as planes, cars and bicycles. Quite simply nothing was out of bounds.

These over the top works of art can be worn alone or stacked and layered to create the most incredible styling and personal statement. Shown here, Dior, Askew, Joseff of Hollywood & Givenchy.
Spectacular pieces of unusual jewellery were produced incorporating these themes and more. The jewels often supersized to max the effect. Statement collars emulating Egyptian pectoral plates emerged, signalling more than one Egyptian revival, bold cocktail rings took a hold, fanciful figurals became the thing and modernist designs wowed with a nod to the futuristic space age.
High quality components were sourced from around the world and used in abundance to create a look of opulence and drama. This collection centres on the pieces that push the boundaries of unique personal embellishment, on pieces that allow you to express your style and adorn your look with powerful, one of a kind pieces. Enjoy!

Animals and mythical takes on animals are highly sought-after in vintage costume jewellery. We have some stunning examples of big cat jewellery in our current collection.
