Hattie Carnegie Vintage Necklace Beaded Feature Clasp 1950s
OUT OF STOCK
One of the very best Vintage Hattie Carnegie multi row statement collars from the 1950s. The stones and the crystals include such a beautiful array of blues with amber like flashes and patterns. Wonderful art glass and crackle glass beading examples. Finished with a deep pool like crystal statement clasp this is Hattie Carnegie at her innovative and creative best.
Born into poverty during the 1880s Carnegie’s entrepreneurial drive delivered an $8m business by the time of her death in the ’50s. One to write home about for sure is HC. An intriguing life – initially a milliner, as was Coco Chanel, and famed for the little Carnegie suit and so it goes on.. not least navigating and adapting her business through major World events such as the Great Depression and WWII.
Approx. 60cm long and 4cm deep. Typically graduated this 4 row collar is not and so when worn the strands just lie naturally as they fall and not in line one above another giving a much more relaxed look. The clasp can be worn at the back or side for extra effect. In very good vintage condition and signed on the reverse of the clasp. This is a super piece of Hattie Carnegie. Her very best pieces becoming scarce. Stunning colours and scale with this one!

Vintage jewellery is extremely delicate and requires special care and attention. Please be aware that vintage jewellery may contain lead or nickel. To preserve its beauty and condition, it is important to keep your item boxed and protected from other jewellery when not being worn and away from liquids including perfume and hairspray. Items are typically most suited to occasional rather than constant wear.
Your order will include our care card suggesting ways to maintain the condition of your jewellery.
We cannot be held liable for any damages incurred after the receipt of products.
Additional Care Tips:
Avoid contact with liquids or humidity including sprays such as water, perfume or hairspray and creams. Exposing jewellery to wet or damp could harm the metal and reduce the life of the plating, as well as cause discolouration and/or loss of stones. Remove jewellery before washing hands, swimming etc.
Store your jewellery in the original packaging or a soft pouch to avoid scratches.
Add your jewellery last when dressing and remove before undressing. Avoid sleeping in your jewellery.
Avoid hard contact (i.e. dropping or knocking against objects) that can cause scratches or chips.
We are always happy to advise on the care specifics of a particular piece you may be considering.
