A Vintage Jacques Fath Star Lariat Necklace dating to around 2010.

This Jacques Fath signed pearl lariat necklace comes from a period when the house was producing jewellery with clear couture intent. The piece carries the distinctive shield-form plaque, engraved Jacques Fath to one side and a coat of arms to the reverse.

Composed as a lariat, the necklace falls into a triple-row drop, finished with substantial jewelled metal stars set with crystals in pale grey and pale citrine hues. The scale is deliberate. The attention to detail in the crystal shades a hallmark of the highest level of couture jewellery. The stars are the focal point – structured, dimensional and confidently placed against the softness of the grey pearls.

During the late 2000s and early 2010s, jewellery for the House of Jacques Fath was crafted in collaboration with Philippe Ferrandis. The use of glass pearls, Swarovski crystals and bold motif-driven design aligns closely with known pieces from that period. While this example bears the Fath signature alone, its construction and theatrical restraint sit comfortably within that era of production.

A strong, sculptural piece with clear presence. Parisian in spirit, and unmistakably couture in scale.

Jacques Fath was one of post-war Paris’ brightest stars – a visionary couturier celebrated for dressing the jeune femme chic, the young, spirited Parisienne. Opening his couture house in 1937, Fath brought a fresh glamour to haute couture, weaving modernity and femininity into every silhouette. His flair for innovation extended beyond the atelier, from pioneering ready-to-wear collaborations with American designers to creating legendary fragrances such as Iris Gris. Though his career was cut tragically short in 1954, Fath’s legacy endures – a timeless symbol of Parisian elegance, charm, and audacious style.

Vintage costume jewellery is delicate and requires special care and attention.

To preserve its continued beauty and condition, it is important to keep your item boxed and protected from other jewellery when not being worn and away from liquids including perfume and hairspray. Items are typically most suited to occasional rather than constant wear.

Your order will include our care card suggesting ways to maintain the condition of your jewellery.

We cannot be held liable for any damages incurred after the receipt of products.

Additional Care Tips:
Avoid contact with liquids or humidity including sprays such as water, perfume or hairspray and creams. Exposing jewellery to wet or damp could harm the metal and reduce the life of the plating, as well as cause discolouration and/or loss of stones. Remove jewellery before washing hands, swimming etc.

Store your jewellery in the original packaging or a soft pouch to avoid scratches.

Add your jewellery last when dressing and remove before undressing. Avoid sleeping in your jewellery.

Avoid hard contact (i.e. dropping or knocking against objects) that can cause scratches or chips.

We are always happy to advise on the care specifics of a particular piece you may be considering.
