Early 20th Century Crystal Paste Czech Flower Basket
A wonderful and substantially sized Crystal and Paste flower basket set in rhodium plated base metal, likely made in Czechoslovakia in the early part of the 20th century c 1910 - 1920. One of the prettiest baskets I have had the pleasure of finding for the collection and I hope you like it too. The larger crystal stones forming the bouquet of flowers are a range of strong and delicate colours from pale pinks and aquas to deep emerald green, These larger crystals are surrounded by smaller paste stones in matching colours. The basket is filled with closely set paste stones including rounds and baguettes. The pin is set in rhodium plated metal and the rhodium plate is still in excellent condition for it's age. The basket is in very good vintage condition overall with only very slight dulling to one or two of the baguettes - mentioned for accuracy as it does not detract when wearing owing to the huge amount of life in the rest of the stones. The pin measures approx 5.5cm by 4cm. A really lovely example of early paste and Czech glass stones that has survived really well for nearly 100 years and still great fun to wear! Certainly a piece that would catch people's eye.
