Vintage jewellery has a way of telling stories, stories of craftsmanship, style, and the ever-evolving world of fashion. Over the years, I’ve had the incredible privilege of loaning pieces from my personal collection to some of the most prestigious museum exhibitions in the UK – helping to present the story of some of the World’s most iconic fashion houses. From ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams’ to ‘Beyond the Little Black Dress’ and Gabrielle Chanel: Fashion Manifesto’, each exhibition has been a celebration of fashion’s timeless influence and enduring creativity and craftmanship.
As a long-time collector and expert in vintage jewellery, seeing these pieces showcased in such historic settings has been a humbling experience. Here’s a look at how these exhibitions brought the beauty of vintage jewellery to life.

Dior: Designer of Dreams – Victoria and Albert Museum (2019)
The Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum was a breathtaking journey through the history of the House of Dior. Dior’s deep appreciation for elegance and luxury was woven into every display, highlighting his impact on haute couture.
It was an honour to have vintage Dior jewellery from my collection featured in this landmark exhibition. Dior’s designs have always embraced the power of accessories, and seeing my pieces alongside his exquisite gowns was a powerful reminder of how jewellery completes a look.

Beyond the Little Black Dress – National Museum of Scotland (2023)
Few garments in fashion history are as iconic as the little black dress (LBD). The Beyond the Little Black Dress exhibition explored its evolution, from a symbol of sophistication to a canvas for personal expression.
Jewellery plays a vital role in styling the LBD, elevating it from simple to statement-making. My contribution to this exhibition highlighted how the right piece – be it a vintage brooch, a statement necklace, or elegant earrings transform the classic black dress.

Gabrielle Chanel: Fashion Manifesto – Victoria and Albert Museum (2024)
Gabrielle Chanel’s legacy is woven into the fabric of fashion itself, and Gabrielle Chanel: Fashion Manifesto at the V&A was the first UK exhibition dedicated solely to her work. From her revolutionary designs to her pioneering approach to Chanel jewellery, the exhibition captured her extraordinary influence.
I was deeply honoured to loan six vintage Chanel jewellery pieces from my collection to this exhibition. Chanel’s approach to jewellery was both bold and refined—she understood that accessories weren’t just an afterthought but a crucial part of a woman’s wardrobe. Walking through the jewellery room, I felt an immense appreciation for the artistry and vision that continues to inspire generations.
