Retail Projects
Selfridges & Co
Since launching at Selfridges in 2020, Jennifer Gibson Jewellery has maintained a continuing mainline collection at its iconic Oxford Street store, regularly refreshed and personally curated by Jennifer. Voted Best Store in the World an incredible four times, Selfridges is synonymous with elegance, creativity and innovation, making it a natural home for Jennifer’s distinctive approach to vintage and stylish sustainability. This long-standing presence has also led to a series of special curation projects created at the invitation of Selfridges.
The latest is a dedicated 20-piece Schiaparelli collection, developed to coincide with the V&A’s landmark Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art exhibition, to which Jennifer also loaned two pieces from her private collection. At its heart are rare, signed Schiaparelli jewels from the 1950s, alongside vintage pieces selected for their connection to Elsa Schiaparelli’s extraordinary world of wit, surrealism and fashion as art. The finished collection was given its own installation at Selfridges Oxford Street and featured across the store’s social channels.
Previous special curations have included Jennifer’s jewels in Oxford Street’s iconic Corner Shop for ReSelfridges Silverwear and WORN AGAIN: The Edit, celebrating circular fashion across the entire Selfridges chain. The Bridal Shop has also received the ReSelfridges treatment, with JGJ jewels requested for its creative take on bridal. Each collection was curated exclusively by Jennifer for the world-famous department store.
JGJ jewels featured across six consecutive Selfridges Christmas campaigns, appearing throughout its festive creative and frequently in the famous Oxford Street windows. The unforgettable highlight was the Christmas of Dreams campaign with Juno Birch. Jennifer’s sparkling edit appeared in the campaign films and the Otherworldly Treasures window, with the JGJ name emblazoned across one of Selfridges’ Oxford Street windows.
The jewels have also appeared in multiple editions of Selfridges Yellow Pages, its magazine celebrating fashion, design and culture, including Autumn/Winter and Christmas editions. One particularly special feature saw legendary supermodel Kristen McMenamy styled in a complete suite of vintage Dior jewellery from JGJ, including the choker, earrings and bracelet.
Fenwick
In celebration of the V&A’s spectacular Dior Designer of Dreams exhibition, Jennifer was invited to curate a stunning Dior Edit for Fenwick, bringing vintage to Bond Street. The one-of-a-kind collection featured original vintage pieces from each of the Dior decades, dating from the 1950s to the 1990s, and was a joyous homage to the diversity of Dior jewellery.
In 2022, she was chosen to curate an edit of 140-year-old antique jewels to commemorate Fenwick’s landmark anniversary. The historic ‘Fenwick 140’ collection included ten stunning pieces from 1882 – the year its first (and flagship) store opened its doors to the public.
Fortnum & Mason
Following the brand’s launch in iconic London department store, Fortnum and Mason in 2022 and inspired by the Fortnum’s Archive, Jennifer designed and curated a timeline collection of vintage jewels to mark the 10th anniversary of its Jewellery Room.
The ‘10 Collection’ comprises a series of remarkable pieces which convey different themes, each celebrating an important area of jewel history. These include charms, pearls, brooches, royalty, and a designer collection featuring some of the jewellery greats – Dior, Schiaparelli and Yves Saint Laurent – in a breathtaking nod to the store’s womenswear couture offering in the 60s and 70s.
