Antique ‘Tam O Shanter’ Beaded Stone Set Ladies Coin Purse
An outstanding example of an antique purse in the style of a 'tam o shanter' coin purse, so called because their form is similar to the style of hat. This antique purse is a great example with it's fabulous colours and ornate micro beading plus the stylish jewelled top. There is also a small vanity mirror on the inner side of the top. Many of these antique purses originated in Bostonia and this one would be at least 100 years old, probably made between 1890 and 1910. The purse is brought to you in excellent condition including the beading. Condition also sets this one apart as typically they are understandably worn and damaged due to their delicate nature. The top of the purse measures approx. 5.5cm wide and at full depth the total height of the purse would be approx 4cm. A really fabulous example of a 'tam o shanter' purse, perfect as a gift or for serious purse collectors.
